One dad's grief Journey
Our world was forever changed on May 29th, 2026. Ryan was more than just a son; he was the light in our home, the laughter that filled our days, and the heart of our family. While we carry the profound ache of his absence, we also carry the quiet strength of his memory. This space is dedicated to the journey of healing, a sanctuary where we can share our reflections and find peace in the love we share with you.

Ryan Julius Benke
Ryan had a gift most people spend a lifetime trying to learn: he actually listened. He made people feel comfortable and seen almost instantly, whether he'd known them for years or minutes.
He had this gift very early on in life. In the classroom, he had a habit of turning ordinary moments into inside jokes that stuck with people for years. On the lacrosse field, he was a motivator, the kind of teammate who kept everyone's energy up no matter the score. As a young adult, he took this gift to the Air Force, developing lifelong friendships. He was quick-witted, effortlessly funny, and impossible not to like.
But underneath the humor was something steadier. He was an old soul, someone whose kindness and wisdom outpaced his age. He noticed when people were struggling, even when no one asked him to, and he showed up for them without being asked twice. He had a way of making people feel like they belonged, like family, without ever making a show of it.
He loved animals deeply, always had a plan for what came next, and spoke often about his future, including his path forward in the Air Force Reserve, moving to California and enrolling in college. He was curious about his own family's history, and he cherished the small, ordinary moments spent with the people he loved.
Ryan was serious about the things that mattered and light about the things that didn't. He loved loudly, laughed easily, and made people feel like they mattered, because to him, they did.
Ryan was born on July 21, 2004, and passed away on May 29, 2026, far too soon. But the way he loved people isn't something that ends. It's something everyone who knew him gets to carry forward.
In Loving Memory
